Caixa Geral de Depósitos online banking services is known as Caixadirecta, a banking services in Portugal which allows you to access and transfer your money even when you're abroad, with Caixadirecta you can pay your bills, schedule payments etc., quickly and easily.

Caixadirecta may be used by phone or online.

This service enables you to:

• Consult your accounts, credits and cards;
• Carry out national and international transfers, payments, cheque requests and other   operations;
• Schedule your operations for the date you desire;
• Negotiate on the stock market and manage your investment funds portfolio;
• Subscribe to financial products;
• Adhere to credit and debit cards.

After opening the account and submitting the application form to Caixadirecta services, you may manage your accounts by phone, using Caixadirecta telephone, or on the Internet, using Caixadirecta online.

Caixadirecta telefone is available in  Portuguese, English, Spanish and French. Caixadirecta online is currently available in Portuguese.

Caixadirecta telefone

Caixadirecta telefone gives you immediate access to Caixa, by telephone or mobile phone, whether or not you are a bank customer. This service is available 24 hours a day.

Caixadirecta telefone allows you to:

• Obtain information on Caixa products.
• Obtain simulations on mortgages and personal loans.
• Report thefts or misplaced Caixa passbooks, cards or cheques.
• Make suggestions.
• View balances and use accounts after entering your contract number and access code.

Caixadirecta telefone provides you with:

• An automatic multilingual service (Portuguese, English, French and Spanish) by selecting the respective options on the telephone keypad.
• Person to person inquiries connecting directly to the operator.

If you live outside Portugal and dial from one of the countries listed below, you may use one of the following telephone lines, free of charge. These lines are for the exclusive use of customers with a Caixadirecta contract:

Caixadirecta online

With Caixadirecta online even when you’re abroad you can manage a series of expenses (paying bills, transferring money to Portugal, scheduling payments etc.) with great convenience.

Caixadirecta online enables you to:

• consult your accounts, credits and cards
• carry out national and international transfers, payments, cheque requests and other operations
• schedule your operations for the date you desire
• negotiate on the stock market and manage your investment funds portfolio
• subscribe to financial products
• adhere to credit and debit cards

You can join Caixadirecta from the age of 15.

The first step is to become a Caixadirecta telefone customer (Caixadirecta's phone service). For that you can do one of the following:

• Make your application over the phone through the Caixadirecta service, available 24 hours a day on the numbers (+351) 707 24 24 24 and select the option # on the phone keyboard to ring the Operator.
• Make your application by sending us the Form and indicating your name in full, client number (consult your bank book or statement) or your account number (13 digits) and the address where you wish to receive the application form (sent by post). When you return the form, you will receive back the contract no. and codes.
• Ask for simultaneous application (only available in Portuguese) to phone and online services. Fill out the form, selecting the codes you wish to use in both services and indicate the e-mail address where you wish to receive the application form (you will receive the contract nº. too). When you return the form, you will receive an e-mail indicating service activation.

After opening the account and submitting the application form you will be provided with your contract number and codes.

If you are already a Caixadirecta telefone customer, a phone call will suffice to activate and choose your Caixadirecta online service access code.

From that time on you may access your Internet banking service for consultations and a limited range of operations. You will then receive the main card at your address which will serve as an additional security password for payment and transfer operations.

Already existing Caixadirecta customers may activate and choose their Caixadirecta online (only available in Portuguese) service codes, with a single call.

Caixautomática

Caixautomática is an automatic service operating 24 hours a day. The service is available from any CGD ATM, located in the entrance to most branch offices.

You can use this service with your passbook (current or savings accounts), debit and credit card, by entering your personal code.

Caixautomática allows you to view and use your accounts for:

• Cash withdrawals;
• Cash or cheque deposits (current or savings accounts)
• Money transfers between CGD accounts;
• Credit card payments;
• Viewing securities portfolio;
• Updating passbooks;
• Ordering cheques;
• Viewing balances and entries;
• Altering PIN (personal identification number) of passbooks;
• Viewing the NIB (banking account number) of your accounts.
